Senior Economist. Advise members of Congress on public policy, including course of action, political and legislative strategy, and delivery of message.
  • Develop quantitative models to estimate the economic, budgetary and social impact of proposed legislation. Findings have been used in hundreds of news articles and by most major newspaper editorial pages, including The Wall Street Journal and New York Times.
  • Research and publish Committee reports on a range of policy issues, including estate and income taxes, risk management and insurance reform, virtual worlds, tort reform, health care, and federal spending. 
  • Work on cross-functional legislative teams consisting of staff from House and Senate, Republican and Democrat offices, as well as industry and interest group representatives
  • Guided a pension reform bill, in conjunction with other committees, through the U.S. House of Representatives by utilizing legislative, analytical and coalition-building skills, culminating in the passage of H.R. 1594 (104th Congress) by a 60 vote margin (239 to 179).
  • Communicate research and recommendations via individual briefings for members of Congress and the media, and through public debate and speeches.

  • E-Commerce Strategy: Formulated an e-commerce strategy for a Fortune 1000 client to enter B2B digital marketplaces. Prepared a market entry plan based on key success and risk factors. Conducted interviews and evaluated potential sites to assess client fit. Presented to client's CTO detailed recommendations that are now being implemented.
